If you are looking to get a good feel for the city, 2 days is enough, however, there are plenty of things to do and see in Ljubljana to keep you here longer. In fact, I would personally recommend at least one extra day to fit in a day trip from Ljubljana to one of the many attractions and destinations nearby.Let this not discourage you, however, Ljubljana is definitely worth a visit, it's a nice place, similar to other medieval towns.
